Wedding & Civil Partnership Ceremonies Done With Style
Celebrate your wedding or civil partnership with a bespoke celebration ceremony crafted especially for you, with your story at the heart. We use our artistic energy and creative flair to craft and deliver bespoke celebration ceremonies for couples, including wedding celebration ceremonies and civil partnership celebration ceremonies. We are based in West Yorkshire, although we are very happy to travel throughout the UK and beyond to help you celebrate your special occasion.
Our ceremonies are created from scratch for every single occasion, so you can be sure that the words we use have been carefully considered and crafted to reflect your love story. We build time into the planning process for you to read a draft and thoroughly review the content. We are obsessed with the details and we care deeply about getting everything just right.
An advantage of choosing a celebrant to build your ceremony is that the legal bits have been taken care of with the register office before the big day, so you can choose a venue without a license, and include almost any content and cultural references you like in the ceremony (apart from the few statutory lines in the marriage ceremony). This means you have a much greater choice of venues and locations to consider.
Before we go any further, it is important to note that we cannot legally marry you so you will need to book your legal marriage through the correct register office before we have a ceremony together, but that doesn’t mean we cannot start planning today.
Most register offices will offer a short, simple version of the marriage ceremony which takes care of the legal aspects but you will need to plan ahead to make sure you secure a booking. Some register offices are now offering their own celebrant services but they will not offer the creativity and attention to detail that we can bring to your special day. Give us a call today to find out more about how we can help you.
Services we offer
When it comes to the writing process, we will spend plenty of time with you, gathering all the essential ingredients of your relationship and experiences so we can weave them into your ceremony. We will look for themes, ideas and connections across all the aspects of the ceremony to make sure that it is logical, and an emotionally powerful moment for you and all your guests.
The vows and promises you make to each other are very personal, so we will work with you to choose a format which feels just right for you. You may decide to write your own, or we can help you to capture your feelings for each other with words which feel right when you say them to each other on the day.
The choice of symbolism in your wedding celebration ceremony can bring the love story to life. There are lots of wonderful symbolic actions which you can choose from to build into your ceremony from simple handfasting to cocktail mixing. We can also work with you to create new symbolic actions and gestures which are meaningful and personal to you.
You are likely to have guests who take part in the ceremony from bridesmaids and groomsmen to people reading poetry or singing your special song. We are very experienced at putting people at their ease in public situations, so you can rest assured that everyone will be supported to shine on the day. We take care of the details and make sure that everyone involved knows exactly what they have to do, so they can relax and enjoy the ceremony.

Choosing the right celebrant matters. You need to feel comfortable with the way we work and confident that you are going to have a wonderful experience from beginning to end. We like to arrange to meet in person so that we can have a cuppa and answer any questions you may have before you commit to investing in our services.
When you are ready to go ahead, we will ask you to sign a booking form and service contract. We charge 50% of the fee up front with the remainder payable on delivery of the first draft of your ceremony script.
The writing process begins as soon as you have signed up. Following our initial meeting we will put our mind to the type of content which could work best for you so that we have our own ideas and suggestions ready if we need them. Next we will arrange a longer meeting with you where we will go through all the details of the day. We will spend a couple of hours together talking about all aspects of the ceremony from your story and the way you want to be introduced to all the practical elements which will make the celebration ceremony work really well.
When we have everything we need, we go off and start the creative process, pulling together all the elements we have discussed and crafting the bespoke wording which will make your day special. We present this to you so that you can go have a first look, before we make any revisions and tighten up any of the details we have not fully settled on. We will also make sure that we have sourced and approved any props or symbolic items which we have agreed to provide.
It matters to us that you are happy so we will take the time to work with you to make sure you get the ceremony that you dream of. If there are symbolic elements which you need to learn, we can arrange a time to have a bit of fun and try things out in advance so you are not trying to learn things under the pressure of the day. Our pricing includes rehearsal time, and we will discuss any arrangements for a larger rehearsal with everyone involved.
On the day we will be there early to make sure the space is set up properly, that we have met everyone involved, and that you can relax and take part in the ceremony rather than feeling you have to run around to get everything ready yourself.
After the ceremony you will be presented with a beautiful souvenir copy of your ceremony for you to keep.
We love to build great relationships with all our clients from day one, and we look forward to getting started on the planning for your big day.
TOP TIP: We know that planning for a wedding celebration ceremony can be challenging, especially when there are lots of voices telling you what you should choose. Sometimes, compromise is important, but that doesn’t mean you have to let go of your own dreams. The conversations we have with our clients are always confidential and we will be happy to talk through the challenges and compromises to see if we can find a middle ground which keeps everyone happy.
This is a big decision isn’t it?
You need to feel comfortable and have a good rapport with your celebrant, and we know the relationship needs to be a good fit. We promise no hard selling. Instead, we will take the time to talk through what you are looking for, and to answer any questions you may have before you commit to working with us.
Frequently Asked Questions

A celebration ceremony is a personalised, non-legally binding ceremony led by a professional celebrant. Written specifically for you, it will focus on your story and your style and personal taste.

Yes. A celebrant can deliver your ceremony anywhere with no need for a licensed venue. So traditional hospitality venues are possible as are beaches, forests, gardens, backyards, or barns. You just need to have permission from the owner. If you are unsure of the legal implications of working with an independent celebrant please get in touch and we will point you in the right direction.
-
Yes. Celebrants can blend spiritual, religious, or cultural traditions into your wedding or civil partnership celebration to reflect your backgrounds and beliefs. We will discuss your requirements and the best way to do this to ensure that we are always respectful of customs and beliefs. If we are unsure or uncomfortable about leading a particular aspect of the ceremony we will discuss this with you to make sure everyone is comfortable and we are doing the right thing.

Yes, in fact our owner Paul J. Abbott is a gay man, so LGBTQ+ ceremonies are supported and encouraged. Everyone has the right to be treated with dignity and respect and we will do everything we can to make ALL our clients feel comfortable and happy. We don’t make a big deal of LGBTQ+ ceremonies in our main marketing material because, quite frankly, you shouldn’t have to ask anymore!
-

In principle, yes. We are very happy to travel for destination weddings. We are based in Leeds, West Yorkshire so the description of our services is tailored to the law in England and Wales. So we will need to check local laws in the country of your choosing to make sure that we are fully compliant with local laws and customs before we agree to take the booking. We will also look at the costs and logistics involved to make sure you are fully aware of additional charges on top of our fees for writing and delivering the ceremony for you.
